Côte d’Ivoire-AIP / More than 700 auditors take part in the 2021 exam in the IFEFs

Seven hundred and fourteen auditors from Women’s Training and Education Institutes (IFEF), distributed in 17 centers including seven in Abidjan and 10 inside the country, are taking part this Thursday 10 June 2021, at the end of training exam.

“We just launched the IFEF exams. This is an important step. After a school year of theoretical courses and intense preparations, we want to assess the mastery of skills taught to our listeners. The education of the young girl, the training and the empowerment of women are among the priorities of the economic and social policy of the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara ”, declared the Minister for Women, the Family and the Child, Nassénéba Touré, during the launch of the examination, in Abidjan.

The exam is held in one day. The candidates compose in different modules which are divided into learning about family life, child sewing, adult sewing and pastry which has increasingly become the flagship subject with 422 candidates out of the 714.

“For the examination, the number per room varies from eight to 17 listeners to take into account respect for physical distancing because of the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Ms. Touré.

The IFEFs provide alternative education offers (theoretical and practical training) to women, illiterate or out-of-school girls and also to men, to enable them to integrate into the socio-economic fabric.

The number of IFEFs was from 58 in 2011 to 121 in 2019. The number of female auditors increased over the same period from 1,951 to 3,064, ie an increase rate of 57%. Nearly twenty digital houses have been installed in the IFEFs.
