Côte d’Ivoire-AIP / Disrupted population activities in Alépé

Frequent power cuts in the department of Alépé cause enormous inconvenience for users, especially those in liberal activities.

“The daily power cuts affect our devices and make it impossible for us to make radio broadcasts,” the director of the local radio station, Patricia Daingui, told AIP.

Another maquis owner, Marcelline Chiadon, sent a heartfelt cry. “I have no way to buy or rent a generator. I lose customers every day because of the power cut. My turnover has dropped dramatically. I call on our authorities to resolve this problem of power cuts, ”she said.

Fish trader at the Alépé market, Moussa Traoré, agreed. “We are having trouble keeping the fish. This situation does not follow us, ”he maintained.

According to agent Ehui Emmanuel, the Ivorian Electricity Company (CIE) is hard at work to restore the situation which is a national problem.
